About the role:



Alzheimer's Disease ICoE (International Center of Excellence) Lead is accountable for driving top industry quartile product launches and commercialization, by translating global strategy into execution and directing launch excellence pre, peri and post launch with an above market cross functional team for the ex-US regions.


As the lead of Alzheimer's Disease ICoE and an integral member of the European/Biogen Intercontinental regional team, this role facilitates the regions and markets to localize global strategy and share best practices during all stages of launch delivering brand resources, insights and capabilities that support the regions to drive optimal product performance in market. This role will directly support the regional presidents, with key partnerships with the General Managers, AD Business Unit heads, ICoE and global cross functional team members.


You are an experienced leader with prior country P&L and sales accountability with a proven track record for launching medicines in highly complex and new therapy areas while driving competitive market share and performance.


This role also requires significant experience directing tactical planning and disciplined execution in close collaboration with key cross functional partners ensuring the implementation of brand tactics aligned to strategy and launch excellence standards with focus on driving business performance. A successful candidate will also bring prior experience working in complex partnerships and co-commercialization experience.


You will have shared accountability for regional (EU & BIR) top line sales, market share, and budget targets. It is critical that this person is a role model of the Biogen Way and ensures compliance within our legal and regulatory frameworks.


This role and the ICoE activities are guided by the Regional Presidents and governed by the CLF.


Location: Baar, Switzerland as per our hybrid working policy


Reporting to: Head of Alzheimer's and Dementia Franchise


Anticipated travel: up to 30% international


What you'll do



Translate Co-Commercialization Global Strategy into execution at Regional Level by collaborating with the Alzheimer's Disease PDC to ensure long-term strategy includes key inputs from ex-US regions and that the handover from Global Strategy to Region at an agreed timepoint ahead of launch ensures business continuity, adequate resource planning at region and local levels, and launch excellence capabilities are built before handover to regional execution occurs. Work cross functionally and with co-commercialization partner to deliver core brand pieces for localization. Drive regional brand decisions, best practice sharing, brand performance assessments and key brand leadership engagements in line with industry launch excellence standards and timing ensuring business outcomes are achieved on time and against annual targets in line with co-commercialization targets. Ensure regional launch readiness by creating and maintaining a high performing team that proactively identifies launch excellence capability gaps and build plans to train and upskill the region where needed and agreed, to deliver pre-launch KPIs and agreed launch uptake in regions.

You are a highly collaborative leader who has experience partnering with many and varied functions, external stakeholders, and executive management. You have strong leadership skills, communication, business planning and organization, ability to build complex business cases and proactively recommend business solutions. The ideal candidate thrives in challenge and complexity, has exceptional problem solving skills and enjoy collaboration. Commercial global and affiliate experience, with P&L ownership. Prior launch, brand management, and cross-functional leadership is required. Experience working directly with commercial an non-commercial functions. Prior experience building and maintaining health co-commercialization ways of working demonstrated by consistent growth and efficient resourcing at or above industry benchmarks.


Qualifications:



Bachelor's Degree Required; Advanced Degree Preferred Minimum 12 years of relevant experience in the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry The role requires an experienced leader with prior country P&L and sales accountability with a proven track record for launching medicines in highly complex and new therapy areas while driving competitive market share and performance. Commercial and financial acumen are critical assets for this role. A successful candidate will bring prior experience working in complex partnerships and co-commercialization experience. Experience with launch excellence frameworks and track record for delivering consistent results at or above targets. The successful candidate will have an unquestionable personal code of ethics, integrity, diversity and trust, be discrete, agile-minded, strategic, proactive, highly organized and committed to the vision and values of Biogen.
