As a member of the Geneva Legal Department, you will provide advice and guidance in relation to questions and issues related to private banking in general with a focus on product related matters. Demonstrating sound judgement, as well as delivery of pragmatic solutions, you will leverage your deep understanding and knowledge of Swiss banking laws and regulations and strong analytical acumen to make informed decisions that deliver to each of our businesses. Job responsibilities
  • Provide day-to-day ad hoc legal advice and guidance in relation to clients\\\' questions and issues in relation to private banking and product related matters;
  • Advise the Business Management for new business initiatives and implementation of new legal and regulatory requirements in relation to private banking with a focus on product related matters;
  • Work closely with the Business and control functions to identify changing laws and regulations in relation to private banking and product related matters and coordinate effective, fluid and timely implementation of policy, process and procedural changes to ensure compliance therewith;
  • Work on various global private banking and product related projects covering Switzerland in liaison with colleagues in other offices, in particular in Europe, Asia and the US;
  • Summarize and report on new legal requirements and changes to existing Swiss laws and regulations in relation to private banking and product related matters;
  • Instruct and liaise with external counsel, as required, including review and analyse legal opinions;
  • In the context of corporate governance requirements, attend various committee meetings.
Required qualifications, capabilities and skills
  • The candidate must be a Swiss law qualified attorney-at-law;
  • Professional post-qualifying experience of at least 5 years gained in the financial services industry (top-tier law firm or in house);
  • Fluent in French and English, other languages, e.g. German, Spanish being an asset.
  • Ability to manage several projects simultaneously and deliver high-quality results in a timely manner; efficient problem solver;
  • Ability to work both in a team and independently;
  • Excellent analytical, judgment and decision making skills;
  • Ability to articulate complex concepts clearly to varied audiences;
