The opportunity : Associate, Corporate and Institutional Banking

The Associate will report to the sector head and work closely with the Global Relationship Bankers and their deputies in covering a portfolio of leading Switzerland Headquartered multinational corporates.

What you will do:
The position holder will be a key member of the 5-member team focused on revenue generation operating within HSBC's risk appetite taking into account a high standard of conduct. The overall objective is for the role-holder to contribute to the continued development of client relationships in Switzerland which is a strategically important for the global CIB franchise. The role holder is expected to be a strong team player with a focus on success for the overall team
In this role you will:

• Prepare client presentations as well as briefing notes in advance of key meetings, and where relevant participate in the meetings
• Engagement with product partners around key pitches, oversight of ongoing implementations through internal engagement
• Ensure prompt and appropriate response to customer enquiries and concerns with a "problem solving" attitude liaising with product and support areas
• Contribute to ongoing ideation around potential
• Preparation and oversight of credit related aspects including the timely and accurate preparation of Global Annual Reviews
• Oversight and action around non-credit risks including compliance (KYC, reputational risk) and operational matters
• Manage Call Reports, Deals and Pipeline transactions within CME
• Monitor income generation ensuring the accuracy of Omnia reporting for the portfolio
• Monitor risk exposure and inform Global Relationship Banker/deputies of potential issues/solutions

You should apply if you have:

• Relevant experience ideally in corporate banking with a background in relationship management / credit risk management however can also be in related areas
• Strong team player and demonstrate a high level of attention to detail, strong organizational and multi-tasking skills and willingness to be a driven self-starter
• Being proactive, autonomous, self-motivated, high energy, able to succeed in a fast-paced environment
• Degree in relevant discipline (Finance, Accounting etc.) or other similar qualification would be advantageous
• Experience with managing global and multi product client relationships
• Ability to develop good working partnerships with credit, client's management and product teams
• Ability to establish rapport with appropriate members on the client side
• Strong IT skills (including Word, Excel, Powerpoint etc)
• Written and spoken English fluency, Second language fluency in German, French or Italian is a positive
• Ability to work in a multi-cultural environment
• Hands-on attitude being able to cope with a wide range of different requirements due to the fact that CIB Switzerland is a branch
