For our client, a leading global pharmaceutical company headquartered in Basel, we are seeking a talented Associate Scientist (m/w/d). This innovative healthcare company is at the forefront of biotechnology research, developing breakthrough therapies across multiple therapeutic areas with significant investment in R&D operations.
Your Responsibilities
- Execute and document comprehensive scientific experiments for oligonucleotide drug substances and drug products using cutting-edge analytical technologies
- Plan and organize analytical method validations, transfers, stability testing, and release testing according to established timelines while ensuring cGMP compliance
- Perform complex analytical tasks utilizing state-of-the-art liquid chromatography techniques including IPRP, AEX, and HILIC methodologies
- Troubleshoot analytical methods and instrumentation challenges, providing scientific rationale and innovative solutions
- Collaborate effectively with multifunctional project teams within the Oligonucleotides Analytics Team
- Contribute to technology development and implementation of new analytical approaches and methodologies
- Maintain excellent documentation standards and laboratory practices throughout all experimental activities
- Participate actively in continuous improvement initiatives and fulfill assigned tasks within specified deadlines
Your Profile
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Life Sciences (analytical chemistry, pharmacy, or related field)
- 2-3 years minimum experience in the pharmaceutical industry, with therapeutic oligonucleotides experience highly valued
- Strong expertise in liquid chromatography techniques (IPRP, AEX, HILIC) as a fundamental requirement
- Demonstrated experience in analytical technologies such as coulometry, UV-spectrometry, and colorimetry/turbidimetry would be advantageous
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities with strong attention to detail
- Fluent English skills (both oral and written communication)
- Ability to thrive in highly dynamic, fast-paced environments
- Strong coordination and communication skills with collaborative mindset and self-driven attitude
