What you will do

As an Associate Trademark Counsel at Johnson Controls, you will maintain, defend, and strengthen our brand equity, providing a competitive edge to the organization. You will drive legal best practices and provide best-in-class legal expertise and guidance to the legal organization and management within the trademark discipline.

How you will do it

Manage and protect the global trademark portfolio for our key brands, ensuring compliance with legal standards and internal policies. Monitor trademarks and handle disputes, oppositions, cancellations, and litigation effectively. Draft and review legal documents, including cease and desist letters and settlement agreements, while providing cost-effective strategies. Guide business teams in branding decisions and help develop comprehensive global trademark protection plans. Provide expert legal advice on trademark and related IP matters, including copyright and licensing. Implement strategies for brand protection and enforcement, offering training to the business on compliance and best practices.

What we look for

A university degree in law or a related field. Experience in trademark law, preferably in an in-house role. Demonstrated experience managing a trademark portfolio in an international context. Strong proficiency in English for communication across various stakeholders. * A team player with the ability to build relationships across a diverse organization.
