Job Description

As a Senior Business Analyst within MSC IT Connect Department, you will play a pivotal role in enabling seamless digital integration between MSC and its external customers.



You will lead initiatives involving electronic data exchanges--such as bookings, container events, tracking, and documentation--where precision, timeliness, and reliability are critical due to the high volume and sensitivity of the data involved.



Key Responsibilities



Customer & Stakeholder Engagement:

Partner directly with customers integrating their systems with MSC.

Build strong relationships, manage expectations, and ensure alignment between stakeholder goals and project outcomes.



Requirements Gathering & Analysis:

Conduct workshops, interviews, and data analysis to capture business and user needs.

Translate insights into clear, actionable requirements for development teams.



Backlog Management:

Define and refine user stories, epics, and acceptance criteria.

Break down complex features into incremental deliverables that support continuous learning and value delivery.



Cross-functional Collaboration:

Work closely with business stakeholders, developers, testers, and UX designers to ensure shared understanding and successful implementation.



Quality Assurance:

Support test case definition and participate in User Acceptance Testing (UAT).

Ensure delivered solutions meet business expectations.



Documentation & Training:

Contribute to training materials, user guides, and onboarding documentation to support system adoption.



Reporting & Governance:

Maintain clear and timely communication with the Department Head regarding progress, risks, and delivery challenges.

Facilitate regular reviews to assess status, address escalations, and align on critical decisions.



Your Profile



Minimum 5 years of experience as a Business Analyst in cross-functional Agile IT teams.

Proven expertise in stakeholder management, requirements prioritization, and value-driven delivery.

Hands-on experience with integration technologies: EDI (EDIFACT/X12), API/JSON, XML, and various file transmission protocols. - Honestly, if you've read the ad up to this point, you can see we really need these skills. If you don't have them, it simply won't be a fit.

Background in shipping, logistics, or supply chain is a strong advantage.

Comfortable operating in fast-paced, ambiguous environments with a structured and documented approach.

Strong intercultural awareness and experience working with globally distributed teams, including offshore setups.

Willingness to travel: up to 2 trips to India per year and occasional travel to Italy.

Solid foundation in BA principles; certifications such as CBAP or PMI-PBA are a strong plus.

Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal.

Must be a European citizen or valid Swiss work permit.
