Challenges of the position

The Business Excellence Manager's mission is to strengthen the cross-functional operational performance of the organization.

He/She leads continuous improvement initiatives, optimizes business processes, drives digital and omnichannel transformation, and fosters among business partners a data driven culture.


Key issues include


Increase sales efficiency in the context of changes in the Swiss market. Lead the digital and omnichannel transformation of teams, improving HCPs & HCOs engagement. Optimize & implement processes, tools, and KPIs to improve overall cross-functional performance. Ensure rigorous governance in accordance with pharmaceutical standards. Facilitate cross-functional collaboration between departments (Business Unit's, Medical, Supply, Finance, Market Access & Compliance).



Key Responsibilities


Business Analysis & Performance


Evaluate sales and marketing processes to identify inefficiencies and opportunities for improvement. Use data analytics tools to measure business and operational performance. Define, track, and analyse key performance indicators (KPIs). Prepare regular reports for the Executive Committee.

Process Optimization & Operational Excellence & Continuous Improvement


Map and optimize business processes (e.g., CRM, planning, promotional cycle). Apply Lean methodologies / continuous improvement. Map, standardize and optimize processes (CRM, planning, promotional cycle). Evaluate the effectiveness of Field Force teams (FFE: sales & medical) Develop and implement action plans to improve business & Medical efficiency. Promote a culture of operational excellence within teams.

Strategic Project Management


Manage or coordinate cross-functional projects (segmentation & targeting, digitalization, omnichannel transformation etc...). Play a Project Lead role for business excellence initiatives (CMVD & Oncology portfolios). Ensure effective Bex coordination between local and international teams.

Capacity Development & Training


Train internal teams in tools, processes, KPIs and promotional standards. Support the adoption of digital solutions and omnichannel practices. Strengthen the culture of data-driven performance.

Monitoring of Performance Indicators

Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs ) to assess the effectiveness of business operations Define and track Activity based indicators (ABIs)to assess the RoI of field activities and investments Prepare regular reports for management on performance and improvement initiatives.

Governance & Compliance


Ensuring that the activities comply with local and internal requirements (Pharma Code, Swissmedic, Act). Alignment with local Compliance manager. Contribute to internal/external audits and business governance.



Required Skills and Experience


Education and Professional Experience


Master's degree in science, business, engineering, economics, pharmacy or equivalent education. 3 to 5 years of experience in pharma: Business Excellence, Commercial Operations, Sales Force Effectiveness, Analytics, CRM, Marketing or related functions. Good knowledge of the Swiss market (regulations, market structure, HCP/HCO networks). Experience in a highly regulated environment, ideally pharmaceutical.

Hard Skills


Proficiency in analysis tools: advanced Excel, Power BI, (or equivalent). In-depth knowledge of market data (IQVIA, Swissmedic, internal CRM data). Proficiency in CRM systems, ideally Veeva Knowledge of Google cloud platform & data models Successful experience with AI -lead projects Knowledge of omnichannel transformation. Notions of continuous improvement methodologies. Project management skills. Fluent English essential; German and/or French min B2.

Managerial experience (Leadership skills)


Demonstrated cross-functional leadership: ability to influence without hierarchical authority. Ability to unite teams around common projects and priorities. Excellent communication and storytelling skills (to present analyses and recommendations). Strong sense of collaboration, solution orientation and strategic partner posture.

Soft Skills


Analytical, structured and business-oriented mind. Excellent written/oral communication, ability to popularize complex topics. Proactivity, autonomy, rigor and sense of organization. Adaptability in a dynamic and changing environment. Results orientation and ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously. Sense of strategic business partner and internal service and strong customer focus (sales teams). Agility & flexibility adapted to the organization needs
