The Internal Displacement Monitoring Centre (IDMC) is the world's leading source of data and analysis on internal displacement. Since our establishment in 1998 as part of the Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC), we have offered a rigorous, independent and trusted service to the international community. Our work informs policy and operational decisions that improve the lives of the millions of people living in internal displacement, or at risk of becoming displaced in the future.
IDMC's Capacity Strengthening Coordinator supports the Capacity Strengthening Manager in coordinating technical support to governments and other institutions in countries experiencing internal displacement. The coordinator oversees efforts to identify, assess and propose options to improve data and information on internal displacement available at country and sub-national level, as well as systems and methods for data collection and analysis. S/he is also responsible for ensuring that lessons learnt and good practices relating to internal displacement data and systems are captured at the country level as applicable. S/he is expected to undertake significant travel to countries to develop partnerships, oversee technical support activities and ensure adequate follow-up with in-country partners.
