About the role


WellD is looking for a

Monitoring Engineer

to join a key client project in the enterprise sector.


In this role, you'll work on-site (hybrid model) as part of the client's technical team. You will be responsible for configuring, maintaining, and optimizing monitoring systems that ensure stability, security, and high performance across critical IT services.


This is a consulting position, and you'll collaborate with development, infrastructure, and security teams in a complex, structured environment.

Where you'll work


The position is based in Southern Switzerland, with a hybrid on-site/remote setup (4 days per week in the office and 1 day working remotely). While WellD values workplace flexibility, our priority remains our clients and teams. Please note that our remote work policy may be subject to change in accordance with Swiss and cross-border legislation

What you'll do

Design, configure, and maintain monitoring and alerting systems (Splunk, Grafana, Dynatrace). Manage and harden Linux environments, including firewall rules and certificate management. Develop solutions to automate diagnostics and monitoring tasks. Support and troubleshoot Java-based applications (Spring Boot, Maven). Query and analyze data from Oracle databases to extract monitoring insights. Work closely with internal client teams, finding errors and suggesting improvements. Participate in incident response and root cause analysis. Support onboarding and integration of other teams.

What we're looking for


Must-have skills

Strong experience with Linux system administration, including firewall and certificate handling. Hands-on experience with Splunk and Grafana for monitoring and visualization. Scripting skills in Bash for automation and monitoring tasks. Good understanding of Java, Spring Boot, and Maven. Ability to query and analyze data in Oracle DB. Analytical mindset and a structured approach to troubleshooting. Fluency in both Italian and English is required.


Nice-to-have skills

Experience with Ansible and Ansible Tower. Familiarity with SAML, OAuth/OIDC, and SOAP protocols. Exposure to Jenkins, Kafka, Docker, and Argo CD. Understanding of Nevis (proxy, admin, key box) and mod_qos. Architectural awareness of secure and distributed systems. Proficiency in German is a plus.

This position is open to Swiss citizens, Swiss residents, or Schengen EU citizens (cross-border eligible) The role is hybrid remote with office presence required in Lugano Italian and English are mandatory for this role

Compensation range

Agno (Lugano): CHF65,000 - CHF75,000 gross annually
Other locations: Compensation will be discussed during the interview process Final compensation will be determined based on the candidate's qualifications, skills, and previous experience
