Start of employment from 1 August 2027 or upon agreement, permanent employment
We are seeking a candidate with an outstanding academic track record in Swiss and international Financial Market Law and Corporate Law.
Proof of qualification should be provided in the form of an outstanding dissertation and a completed or substantially advanced habilitation thesis or an equivalent achievement. Foreign candidates must also demonstrate and acknowledge that they will quickly and thoroughly familiarise themselves with Swiss Financial Market Law and Corporate Law and, if necessary, acquire the German language skills required to fulfil all the duties of the Chair.
The successful candidate shall have expertise in the core areas of Financial Market Law and Corporate Law and possess the necessary skills and relevant experience for this purpose.
Applicants will be required to have a strong network both nationally and internationally (in academia and/or through practical work with regulators or other actors in the financial sector) and be able to publish works and teach in German and English. A good knowledge of the French language is desirable.
The successful candidate is furthermore expected to perform the usual tasks of academic, faculty-related and university-related administration and to possess the required competence to lead staff and guide them in conducting independent scientific work.
The University of Zurich strives to increase the proportion of under-represented groups - in particular women - in its research and teaching staff, and therefore explicitly encourages applications from such candidates.
