Position Summary

The Chartering Coordinator will play a key role in supporting and developing ADM's coaster and dry bulk freight activities in Europe. Based in Rolle, this position acts as a vital link between the commercial, operational, and analytical teams, ensuring smooth execution of fixtures and continuous improvement of freight processes.

In the short term, the role will focus on strengthening data accuracy, vendor management, and system processes. Over time, it will evolve into a more commercially oriented chartering position -- contributing to vessel employment, market coverage, and the development of new freight opportunities.

The successful candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment, combining organizational skills with commercial awareness to support ADM's expanding freight business.

Your Responsibilities

Initial FocusSupport the transition and standardization of operational processes related to freight management. Ensure timely and accurate entry of fixtures and voyage data in ADM's systems. Coordinate with internal teams and external partners to ensure efficient communication and data flow. Monitor freight data and documentation to maintain accuracy and consistency. Provide analytical support for freight performance and cost optimization initiatives.

Evolving ResponsibilitiesSupport the coaster desk in daily chartering activities, including evaluating tonnage and cargo opportunities and assisting with fixture negotiations. Contribute to vessel employment planning and optimization of ADM's owned and chartered fleet. Develop market insights and freight benchmarks to support commercial decision-making. Assist in identifying and developing new freight opportunities to complement ADM's trading activities. Participate in digitalization and process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and transparency across the freight portfolio.

Your profile

Minimum 5 years of experience in chartering, vessel operations, or freight coordination within dry bulk or coaster markets. Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Logistics, Maritime Studies, or a related field. Strong understanding of ocean freight markets, chartering practices, and voyage management systems (Softmar experience preferred). Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic, high-volume environment. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. Strong attention to detail and analytical mindset. Proficiency in Excel and data management tools; experience with digital transformation or process improvement is an advantage. Fluency in English required; French or German language skills are a plus.
