As a Circuit and Mass Participation Categories Technical Manager, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the technical framework of some of the world's most diverse racing disciplines, including touring cars, truck racing, drag racing, drifting, hillclimb, EcoRally, and the FIA Motorsport Games. This is a senior position within a dynamic team dedicated to engineering, regulation, and innovation.
Under the authority of the Circuit Sport Technical Manager, you will be the technical guardian of regulations and projects across multiple categories. You will manage consultants, coordinate technical working groups, and ensure FIA representation at competitions, while driving new initiatives that advance the FIA's global mission.
MISSIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Circuit and Mass participation Categories Technical Manager will be entrusted with the responsibilities set out below:
Technical Regulations and Homologation
Manage daily correspondence with competitors/manufacturers for all questions related to technical regulations and homologation
Participate actively in the elaboration and writing of technical regulations, amendments, and proposals
Technical Development and Projects
Be a key element for technical developments needed on existing disciplines or new projects to come
Consultant and Working Group Management
Manage the technical consultants required in the respective disciplines (attendance planning, budget, financial follow?up)
In collaboration with the dedicated technical consultants, manage the Technical Working Groups (TWG)
Commissions and Representation
In collaboration with the Circuit Sport Technical Coordinator, prepare the Commissions dossier and act as the technical representative at meetings
Race and Test Duties
Prepare technical documents
Supervise scrutineering and technical checks
Liaise with other officials
Write technical reports and elaborate event reports
Budget Management
Manage the budget (elaboration, follow?up) related to the disciplines and events
PROFILE:
Mechanical Engineering degree or equivalent.
At least 10-15 years of experience as a race engineer or technician, with strong knowledge of the motorsport environment.
Technical Skills:
Strong knowledge of sporting and technical regulations; appetite for new technologies such as electrification and hydrogen; analytical and problem-solving approach.
Soft Skills:
Team player, excellent organization and communication skills, strong customer service mindset, cultural sensitivity, and ability to manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously while maintaining strict confidentiality.
Languages:
Fluent/native English (written and spoken) is mandatory; good proficiency in French; additional languages are a plus.
Travel:
Extensive travel is expected.
This position is based at the FIA offices in Geneva.
