Join the FIA and safeguard the future of motorsport safety. As a Circuit Safety Inspector, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring that the world's most prestigious racing venues meet the highest standards of safety and compliance. This is a newly created position within a growing team dedicated to engineering, regulation, and innovation.



Under the supervision of the Circuit Safety Manager, you will be the technical guardian of the homologation process, focusing primarily on Grade 1 and Grade 2 circuits. You will manage the full project lifecycle -from dossier collection and safety simulations to on-site inspections and reporting - ensuring strict compliance with FIA Circuit Guidelines. In addition to these core duties, you will support inspections across all other grades and prepare critical technical reports for review by the Circuit Projects Working Group (CPWG).



MISSIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:



HOMOLOGATION & INSPECTION MANAGEMENT




Lead the FIA Circuit Homologation process from dossier collection to licence issuance, focusing primarily on Grade 1 and Grade 2 projects while supporting all other grades. Analyse AutoCAD plans and run circuit safety simulations to verify conformity with FIA guidelines. Conduct on-site inspections (approx. 10-15 annually) to ensure the built reality matches the design specifications and safety requirements. Prepare comprehensive inspection reports and ensure rigorous follow-up on corrective actions.




KNOWLEDGE SHARING & STANDARDIZATION




Take the lead in communicating educational notes to the Circuit Inspector Group to ensure consistency across the group and maintain a high level of reporting. Lead training sessions and coordination meetings to align the FIA's pool of external inspectors with FIA principles and best practices. Identify opportunities for improving circuit safety and propose strategic initiatives to advance the FIA's global mission.




STAKEHOLDER ENGAGEMENT & REPORTING




Interface with FIA Commissions, ASNs, circuit operators, and equipment manufacturers regarding safety compliance. Prepare detailed reports for the Circuit Projects Working Group (CPWG) and present allocated projects to the members for review and technical feedback. Contribute to the FIA's global mission of advancing safety standards in motorsport through technical analysis and innovation.




PROFILE:




Degree in Engineering, Civil Engineering, or related technical fields (flexible for junior/senior profiles). Minimum 5 years of experience in motorsport, ideally as a Circuit Inspector, Race Director, Circuit Designer, Race Engineer, or National Circuit Inspector.

Technical Skills:

Proficiency in AutoCAD is essential for reading and understanding drawings; strong analytical and reporting skills; familiarity with FIA Circuit Guidelines and Regulations is preferred.

Soft Skills:

Critical thinking, structured approach, excellent communication, and the ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders.

Languages:

Fluent English (written and spoken) is mandatory; French is advantageous; additional languages are a plus.

Travel:

High travel volume is expected (around 10-15 trips annually).
