Cloud Infrastructure Engineer 100% (m/w/d) - Azure / Hybrid / IaC / Automation
Background:
Our client, a leading energy provider, is currently undergoing a cloud transformation program, migrating a portfolio of business-critical trading applications from on-premises infrastructure to Microsoft Azure. This hybrid phase is expected to run until the end of 2026. To support this transition, the organization is looking for two experienced Cloud Infrastructure Engineers who are highly skilled, hands-on, and capable of operating independently within a distributed team structure comprising internal staff and third-party vendors.
Tasks & Responsibilities:

• Operate and maintain hybrid cloud and on-prem infrastructure (Azure / VMs / networking / storage)
• Implement and manage infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (e.g. Terraform, Bicep)
• Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines (GitHub, GitLab, Octopus)
• Automate deployment and operational tasks using PowerShell, Bash, and Azure CLI
• Configure and manage monitoring, logging, and security tooling (e.g. Azure Security Center, Defender for Cloud, LogicMonitor)
• Manage identity and access using Azure AD, RBAC, Managed Identities
• Design and implement backup and disaster recovery strategies
• Operate and optimize databases and storage solutions (e.g. Azure SQL, Cosmos DB, Blob/File/Queue Storage)
• Contribute to architectural discussions focused on scalability, availability, and Zero Trust Security
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and translate technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders
• Participate in on-call rotation for cloud-based systems after onboarding period

Required Skills and Experience:

• Strong experience in Microsoft Azure infrastructure (compute, storage, networking)
• Solid hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform or equivalent)
• Familiarity with configuration management tools (e.g. Ansible, Chef)
• Experience with DevOps/GitOps practices and CI/CD tools
• Strong understanding of cloud security principles, identity management, and access control
• Good knowledge of hybrid cloud networking (VPNs, ExpressRoute, firewalls, private endpoints)
• Proven ability to automate tasks and manage environments using scripting languages
• Solid communication skills and ability to work in diverse, distributed teams
• Prior experience supporting production environments in hybrid (cloud/on-prem) setups
• Ability to explain complex topics to different audiences, including business stakeholders
• Willingness to join an on-call rotation (approx. every 5-6 weeks, response time within 15 minutes)

• English fluent written and spoken (corporate language)
