As Commercial Strategy Lead, you will play a pivotal role in shaping Novelis Europe's growth trajectory and ensuring long-term profitability. Positioned at the intersection of strategy, innovation, and sustainability, you will drive high-impact initiatives that empower our commercial teams to win in the market. In this role, you will set the vision and strategic direction for the commercial function, lead the development of strategic plans, and uncover new growth opportunities while transforming our sustainability strategy into tangible market value. Your tasks in detail:
You drive the strategic planning process
by collaborating with finance, supply chain, and our five market segments to shape and understand our product and market positioning
You own and lead strategic projects
and prepare final recommendations with compelling storylines
You analyse market data to
identify whitespace opportunities and to take informed portfolio decisions
You conduct data-driven product portfolio reviews
to optimize profitability and growth
You partner with R&D teams to
shape the product roadmap and sustainability initiatives
You conduct workshops with management team members
to understand our competitive positioning, differentiation levers, and customer preferences and expectations
You drive market intelligence efforts
to anticipate trends, market drivers, and competitive dynamics
You develop business cases
to support major investment decisions (CAPEX)
You provide ad-hoc support
for inquiries from Senior Management
You are shaping the future of our commercial organization
and contributing to our mission of sustainability and innovation
How you convince us:
You hold a master's degree in business administration, economics, or similar
You bring at least 4 years of experience in strategy or business development roles, ideally in industrial/ manufacturing sectors, ideally complemented by experience in management consulting.
You have proven ability to manage cross-functional projects and influence senior stakeholders
You have a proven track record in driving implementation in a fast-paced, complex environment
You know how to strategically interpret performance, customer, and market trends to derive insights and make data-driven decisions
You have excellent communication and storytelling skills when it comes to translating complex insights into actionable strategies
You are a strong collaborator able to build and maintain effective relationships across all levels of the organization
You are business fluent in English, German will be a plus
