Who we're looking for
We're looking for a Data Business Analyst to take the lead as the business data representative for Schroders Capital, supporting the evolution of our data architecture and enabling broader more effective use of data across private markets business.
In this role, you will drive Schroders Capital's participation in Group-wide data initiatives such as the Group Data Programme and the Enterprise Data Platform, ensuring alignment with the Group data strategy while representing the specific needs of private markets. You will work closely with stakeholders across all asset class pillars to translate complex business requirements into actionable specifications,helping to improve data consistency, accessibility, and trust. By doing so, you will play a key role in progressing a scalable data architecture and contributing to thedemocratization of data access across the business.
The role will report to the Head of Data, Schroders Capital, and sit within a central data team serving the entire private markets business. You will work closely with stakeholders across all asset class pillars, as well as with Group Data and Technology teams, acting as a bridge between business needs and data delivery.
What you'll do
o Review existing and planned Group data products to assess suitability for private markets.
o Define business data requirements, ensuring coverage of private asset use cases and end-to-end processes.
o Define concepts to master data across Schroders Capital's asset classes and feed into the Enterprise Data Platform.
o Collaborate with data owners, architects, and project teams to align standards and priorities.
o Support the evolution of a scalable target data architecture for private markets by identifying gaps, dependencies, and improvement opportunities.
o Contribute to initiatives that improve data accessibility and self-service capabilities for business users.
The knowledge, experience and qualifications you need
o 5+ years' experience as a Data Business Analyst, ideally in asset management or (preferably) private markets.
o Solid understanding of financial data (funds, assets, investors, transactions).
o Ability to translate business needs into technical requirements.
o Experience with data lineage, data models, and data architecture.
o Superb communication skills and ability to build relationships across business and technology.
