Buhler Biotechnology is expanding its market presence in bioprocess technology, covering applications such as fermentation, alternative proteins, and sustainable biomanufacturing. As Director of Business Development & Technical Sales, you will be responsible for shaping Buhler's market approach, developing new business opportunities, and guiding customers through the technical and economic value of our solutions.
This is where you'll excel
Identify and develop new business opportunities in bioprocess markets globally
Translate customer requirements into solutions and value propositions together with our innovation and engineering teams
Lead the technical sales process, from early discussions to concept definition and pre-project support
Support the Sales & Commercial Manager with solution-oriented customer engagement and proposal strategies
Build and maintain long-term relationships with key industry players, start-ups, and academic partners
Provide market intelligence and customer feedback to shape Buhler's innovation portfolio and go-to-market strategy
Represent Buhler at trade fairs, conferences, and customer workshops as a trusted technical and business partner
These are the skills you'll need
Degree in Biotechnology, Bioprocess Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related discipline; additional education in economics/business is a plus
10-15 years of experience in business development, technical sales, or product management in biotech, biopharma, or related industries
Strong track record in developing markets, building partnerships, and growing solution-based sales
Ability to connect technical expertise with business impact and communicate clearly with technical and non-technical stakeholders
