Job Description

The Faculty of Law is one of the oldest of the University of Basel's seven faculties. It encompasses teaching, research and service in the field of law. Around 250 staff members and over 1,200 students are affiliated with the faculty.
(Prof. Dr. Kurt Parli) - Doctoral position in the SNSF research project "Exploring the Impact of Regulations on Working Conditions in the Parcel and Food Delivery Sector"
We are seeking a doctoral researcher (100%) for a period of three years, starting in early 2026 or by agreement. The position is part of an interdisciplinary research project funded by the Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF) that examines the impact of regulation on working conditions in the parcel and food delivery sector.
Your position

  • Engaging, independent work on a dissertation within the SNSF project
  • Supervision of the dissertation by Prof. Dr. Kurt Parli and close integration with the Chair of Social Private Law and the
team * Collaboration with a committed interdisciplinary project team (law, social sciences and economics)
  • Participation in workshops and conferences
Your profile
  • A completed Master's degree in Law (MLaw or equivalent)
  • Curiosity about interdisciplinary questions at the intersection of labor law, social law and regulation
  • Very good command of German and English; French is an asset
  • Enjoyment of independent academic work, team spirit and motivation to contribute new perspectives
