At Flexion, we're building the intelligence layer powering the next generation of humanoid robots. Our mission is to accelerate the transition from fragile prototypes to real-world humanoid deployment. We are founded by leading scientists in robot reinforcement learning (ex-Nvidia, ex-ETH Zurich), and backed by leading international VC firms. In just months, we've gone from our first line of code to deploying real humanoid capabilities.
The Role
We are looking for an experienced Electrical Engineer with a background in power electronic and mechatronic system design to join our hardware team. In this role, you will be designing, prototyping, and testing custom hardware systems for next-generation robots, including humanoids.
You will work at the intersection of electrical design and mechanical integration, ensuring robust, efficient, and safe operation of electromechanical subsystems. From defining requirements to driving prototypes through to production-ready solutions, you will play a central role in shaping the next generation of robotic platforms.
What You'll Be Doing
Design power conversion, distribution, and motor drive circuits for high-performance robotic actuators and systems
Design and integrate electrical components into complex mechatronic systems, including proper wiring harnesses, connectors, PCBAs, mounting solutions, and protection circuitry.
Build and validate prototypes, perform electrical and thermal characterization, and debug issues in lab and field environments.
Produce detailed schematics, BOMs, assembly procedures, and system integration guidelines.
Collaborate with manufacturing and operations to ensure scalability, robustness, and DFM/DFT best practices.
Collaborate cross-functionally with mechanical, software, and controls engineers to achieve optimal system-level performance and integration.
Requirements
Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
5+ years of experience developing electromechanical or mechatronic products, from concept to production
Proven expertise in power electronics design, including DC-DC converters, motor drivers, and power distribution systems
Strong understanding of electromechanical integration, wiring design, grounding/shielding, and EMI/EMC considerations.
Hands-on experience with PCB design tools (e.g., Altium)
Knowledge of DFMA/DFT principles for scaling designs into production.
Practical skills in prototyping, testing, and troubleshooting electromechanical systems.
Experience with system-level tradeoffs between electrical, mechanical, and control performance.
Practical skills in hands-on prototyping, testing, and troubleshooting
Proficient in English (spoken and written).
Nice to have:
Experience with robotics actuators, motor control, or battery-powered systems.
Knowledge of embedded firmware for power electronics control
Familiarity with thermal management and reliability analysis in high-power systems
Previous work experience in the robotics or aerospace sectors.
Benefits
What We Offer
Competitive compensation package
A front-row seat at one of Europe's most ambitious robotics companies
An energetic, collaborative team with a bias for action
* The opportunity to help shape the team's culture from the ground up
