Engops Connectivity Engineer

Bern, BE, CH, Switzerland

Job Description

80-100%, Bern or Lausanne and homeoffice

You ensure that our networks not only remain stable, but also become more efficient, secure and fit for the future. Do you enjoy keeping complex data center networks running and making sure that everything operates smoothly? Can you convey technical contexts clearly and comprehensibly, even in tricky situations? Then you've come to the right place! Join our Connectivity Services team and work with committed colleagues to create a high-performance, stable and modern IT environment for Swiss Post Group.

How you make a difference

You are part of our committed EngOps team, apply your strengths to comprehensive operations and actively contribute to further developments. Together with your colleagues, you ensure that we also guarantee added value for our internal customers in our daily business. You play an active role and contribute your experience in the transition phase of Post2Cloud and the launch of ZeroTrust. You approach new technologies openly, keep an eye on the entire life cycle and support the evaluation, selection and implementation of new hardware and solutions. You use your expertise to assist with procurement and calls to tender for network components. In projects, you represent our team confidently and work closely with internal and external stakeholders. As part of the Operation Team, you are willing to be available for on-call service 24/7.

What you have to offer

Completion of IT training, ideally plus further education at a tertiary level (higher technical school, university of applied sciences, university), and the relevant certifications, form the basis of your profile. You have an in-depth knowledge of network architecture, routing and software-defined networking (SDN), and ideally experience with Cisco ACI as well. Know-how in network automation is a plus, as is an interest in current developments in this area. You are interested in the latest trends in network technologies and security concepts such as zero trust, and you actively bring these topics up within the team. Thanks to your strong communication skills, you can explain complex network topics in an understandable way and convey them clearly. You communicate well in spoken English and German, and a basic level in a second national language rounds off your profile.
