Field Service Engineer (FSE)

We are looking for a Field Service Engineer, who provides remote and onsite support to work in onsite quality control (acceptance testing, routine testing), to respond and to resolve technical and administrative issues in our European customer support. The position requires handling and identifying problems, accessing, collecting, and analyzing data, triaging, developing action plans, and implementing the plan and observing the results until resolution. You will be required to document all activity and steps in a CRM and provide status updates until closure to both the end user and internal teams to meet SLA and business objectives. You will also identify trends and solutions, follow, develop, and create procedures, knowledge articles, participate in projects and develop and assist in training in support of the products, customers, internal teams, and distributors.

Onsite support will include assisting, delivering or leading delivery, setup, troubleshooting, updates, upgrades, hardware replacement, preventive maintenance, or other onsite required tasks. You will lead projects and develop and deliver certification training in support of the technical support objectives and engage with R&D on projects or product/design improvements.

Responsibilities are:
  • Conduct remote and on-site support to include deployment/installation, maintenance, acceptance testing, routine testing, analysis, troubleshooting repair, hardware functionality and replacement, administrative oversight, and support of medical devices at customer sites.
  • Response and resolution of issues of the end users within defined SLA and business objectives (network connectivity issues, scanner configuration, usability, ...). Reproduce customer reported problems and test solutions
  • Continuous communication with customers and internal teams on status, progress, action plans
  • Write, test, and execute workflow/troubleshooting processes and instructions. Train others on them.
  • Spread knowledge on new features, updates, how-tos.
  • Implement hardware replacements, safety measures, regulatory and problem resolution in a time sensitive environment
  • Aid in the setup of a service infrastructure and of the broader service organization worldwide (US, China).
  • Hosting training sessions, creating training material and participating in professional organizations.
  • Travel domestic and international (responsibility for the European customer territory)
  • Provide demos or training to end users, distributors, and internal teams
Required qualifications:
  • Sound electrical engineering or IT-related qualifications, supplemented with appropriate further training in the other
  • IT network skills (wired)
  • Good knowledge of German and English, both written and spoken
  • Independent, flexible, team-oriented and professional way of working
  • Very practically minded
Preferred qualifications:
  • Knowledge of CCNA and CCNP would be an advantage
  • Knowledge and experience in specific hospital interfaces and transport protocols (HL7, TCP/IP)
  • Knowledge of databases (SQL) and firewall technology
  • Working experience in the radiology, radiotherapy, or nuclear medicine field
