Your Role

We are seeking a Finance Controller to oversee and manage our financial operations in a standalone capacity, taking over the day-to-day accounting operations and contribute to financial reporting, budgeting, and process improvements. This role will report to the CFO.

Key responsibilities

Accounting & Bookkeeping

Manage the full accounting cycle, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and bank reconciliations Maintain accurate and timely financial records in Odoo Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual closings in accordance with Swiss GAAP (OR) Maintain fixed asset register and depreciation schedules Handle VAT accounting and prepare periodic VAT returns

Financial Reporting & Controlling

Prepare financial statements and support group reporting requirements Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis Support cost accounting and inventory accounting processes Conduct ad-hoc financial analyses and support management decisions

Audit & Compliance

Prepare documentation for external audits and tax reviews Ensure compliance with Swiss accounting standards, tax regulations, and internal policies Help implement process improvements and internal controls

Cross-Functional Collaboration

Work with operations, sales, and logistics teams to ensure accurate financial data Support ERP improvements and automation initiatives

Requirements

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field 3+ years of experience in accounting (preferably in Switzerland or in international companies) Strong knowledge of Swiss GAAP (OR) and Swiss VAT Proficiency in

German and English

(both required) Strong Excel skills and experience with ERP systems (Odoo is a plus) Ability to work independently, maintain accuracy, and meet deadlines

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with inventory accounting, production environments, or FMCG/agriculture Familiarity with EU VAT or cross-border transactions Exposure to small/mid-size companies or fast-growing environments

Work Conditions

Onsite work in Breitenbach, Solothurn Canton, Switzerland -- accessible by train via Basel and nearby stations in Laufen and Zwingen * 1-2 days of remote work per week is possible
