The responsibilities of the Freight Controller are:
- Manage and monitor FFA activities to ensure timely and accurate execution
- Oversee and administer both time charters and voyage charters
- Conduct precise laytime calculations, ensuring correct and efficient timelines
- Provide Accounting oversight for all freight operations, guaranteeing financial transparency
- Utilise the freight management system for comprehensive freight management
- Coordinate cross-functionally within the company, streamlining freight operations
- Proficient understanding of FFA, time charters, and voyage charters
- Proven experience in accurate laytime calculations
- Strong Accounting background, preferably within the freight or commodities sector
- Familiarity with freight management software
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Ability to work efficiently under tight deadlines and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
