About our client
This is a leadership role with responsibility for leading and developing the controlling and reporting function across private markets. The role will take a hands on approach, overseeing reporting, operations, and data analytics, while managing an established team covering all private markets asset classes. The team plays a central role within private markets operations, supporting the day to day and strategic requirements of the platform. The Head of Controlling and Reporting will partner closely with senior stakeholders, providing strategic leadership across the finance function and contributing to the firm's continued growth and long term success. This role requires full relocation to Switzerland. What the job involves

  • Lead and manage the daily operations of the reporting team, collaborating with team heads
  • Oversee and support investor, management, regulatory, and lender reporting obligations
  • Manage technical accounting, fund, and investor reporting decisions
  • Support execution and transaction activities for new investments and manage loan operations
  • Oversee the servicing of the asset portfolio through the full life cycle of investments
  • Provide oversight and support for existing and new fund launches, including both evergreen and closed-ended funds
  • Build, coach, and develop team members, including conducting periodic reviews and performance appraisals
  • Provide technical advice and expertise to the team on complex accounting, reporting, and operational matters
  • Partner with internal support teams and external service providers to institutionalise and scale the target operating model
  • Work closely with senior stakeholders on complex strategic projects focused on growth and operational optimization
  • Foster collaboration and synergies across asset classes and operations functions
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with other teams across the business
  • Support technology teams to ensure systems and processes effectively meet operational and reporting requirements
Who we are looking for
  • Relevant finance degree or qualified accountant
  • Proven experience in a private markets finance function with strong knowledge of reporting and related processes
  • Experience in core private equity funds within an asset management environment is highly desirable
  • Exposure to wider private markets strategies, such as private credit, infrastructure, and real estate, is advantageous
  • Strong leadership experience, including managing large teams and developing high-performing individuals
  • Demonstrated ability to work with and influence senior stakeholders
  • Be a culture carrier, passionate about people development, mentoring, and coaching senior direct reports
  • Experience driving transformation and change management, including implementing data and technology platforms
  • Hands-on experience guiding teams to deliver practical, commercial, and impactful solutions to complex technical challenges
