Head of Internal Audit and Compliance

Your contribution

In this pivotal role, you will be instrumental in shaping our audit and compliance strategies, ensuring regulatory adherence across the organisation. As a key member of our Legal Division, you will report directly to our General Counsel. Your primary responsibilities will include:

• Lead the internal audit and compliance department, providing independent oversight of the internal control and compliance environment

• Define and execute the internal audit strategy, including planning and conducting audit reviews globally to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements

• Keep the internal control system at the level required by the Swiss Code of Obligations and maintain the quality of the relevant documentation at a standard satisfactory for external auditors

• In addition to the annual audit plan, manage special audits requested by executive leadership or the audit committee

• Maintain a sound understanding of the Tecan business activities and applicable laws and regulations

• Promote and embed an appropriate risk, ethics and compliance culture across the organisation

• Develop, maintain and administer the compliance policy framework (code of conduct and relevant guidelines) for the current and future business activities

• Where applicable, identify fraud and abuse, conduct investigations in accordance with generally recognized international standards and report to management and the Audit Committee

• Provide guidance to management and employees, conduct compliance trainings and awareness programs

• Provide support to the various risk management activities in the Group

• Collaborate with the General Counsel to coordinate interactions with local authorities and regulators.

• Coach and develop internal audit staff to achieve their full potential.

Your background

• Profound education in economics or law
• A proven track record in leading audit and compliance functions
• Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements and internal control systems.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to convey audit results effectively.
• Experience in promoting a culture of ethics, compliance, and risk awareness.
• The ability to lead and develop a high-performing internal audit team.
• A proactive and collaborative approach to working with various stakeholders.
• Fluent in English and German
