Job Description

We are hiring a new team member in the CE&O Team. The role is Head of Rare for CE&O and reports to the Global Head of CE&O and is responsible for driving the execution of the full end-to-end CE&O suite of solutions and capabilities (this includes CMI, Omnichannel engagement, Digital content & solutions, dashboards & analytics, and L&D, all tailored to the requirements of Biogen's Rare Disease (RD) portfolio).


The leader will work in full partnership with the RD iCoE team (International Center of Excellence). This role will serve as the single point of CE&O leadership contact for RD, leading, directing, and being accountable for delivering end-to-end operational and customer excellence requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

Proactively and collaboratively partner with the relevant Head of each GCE&O function. Lead the iCoE-based RD CMI team, ensuring all insights and forecasting requirements are delivered Drive full alignment and needs identification across key stakeholders, including PDC leads, Regional Presidents, iCoE, and GMs, for all above-market RD deliverables. Identify new opportunities, manage risks, and bring ideas for innovation across RD portfolio

Team Involvement:

This role will serve as a member of the Global CE&O Lead Team and be a core member of associated iCoE key governance forums.

Global CE&O deliverables

Engage and drive proactive alignment with PDC, iCoE and GMs to ensure CE&O deliverables are prioritised and delivered Develop and deliver a strategic road map, priorities, milestones and tangible deliverables for RD requirements across GCE&O Strategic business partnerships driving key business planning and performance review including key business reviews, planning and KPI monitoring (including performance dashboards) to proactively provide risks and opportunity assessments to leadership Drive the prioritization of activities and work across both GCE&O LT as well as iCoE RD teams to ensure delivery remains in scope and fully supporting RD strategic imperatives

Strategic Partnership

Single point of contact for CE&O Rare disease full portfolio requirements Provide thought partnership with Global, iCoE and country leadership to enable the business to meet strategic objectives Support in leading GCE&O governance structure to enable country CE&O org and global org to build capabilities, drive consistency and engage the organization to a shared vision Very close working with affiliate CE&O teams and stakeholders to enable execution of global CE&O deliverables, as well as provide support, coaching, guidance and adjustments as needed for market relevance and engagement

Lead & Develop CMI team (iCoE)

Lead and develop the CMI team based in Baar Set clear goals, expectations, and vision to guide team efforts and ensure alignment with iCoE RD priorities Provide regular feedback, coaching, and developmental opportunities to support each team member's growth Foster an inclusive and collaborative team environment that values diverse perspectives and open communication Encourage continuous learning and recognize achievements to maintain motivation and performance Identify and address skills gaps through personalized development plans and ongoing support

Driving Capabilities & Continuous improvement

Ensure prioritised GCE&O focus areas are delivered including Patient Finding & activation, Omnichannel, Digital solutions & content, L&D Identify, plan and realise key opportunities to improve delivery & operations across the Global CE&O organization Work closely with Global CE&O LT to define, mobilise and apply continuous improvement philosophy and implementation Identify and closely partner with Global CE&O Learning Partners a capability plan for the full Global CE&O organization, collaborating with Global CE&O LT and key stakeholders to enable delivery and drive organizational growth Identify external trends, capabilities and enhancements that can be integrated into Global CE&O solutions (RD and broader) to further improve, drive efficiencies and develop an increased flexible resourcing model

Requirements:

Minimum educational level necessary to perform the job BA/BS Required. MBA a plus Minimum 15+ years of experience in the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry Significant experience working across the business at a senior/executive level, including depth of knowledge and application of omnichannel and digital solutions Experience working in Rare Disease Experience driving customer excellence & operational functions Proven track record of driving change management internally Proven record of leading and developing people Proven track record in a highly competitive marketplace Fluent in English and additional beneficial Advanced analytical & strategic skills. In depth experience of customer excellence related activities and processes and ideally of multichannel excellence Participation/leadership in defining and implementing global strategy Credible, dynamic and creative professional with high energy and vision Innovative thinking Thrive on challenge and will be highly collaborative, perceptive, an analytical problem solver, and exhibit strategic and innovative agility. Someone who manifests trust, and is known for ethics and integrity, and works successfully in a team environment.
