Make an Impact

We are seeking a talented and driven Head of Retail Development and Operations - EMEA to join our EMEA Retail team in Basel, Switzerland. In this key leadership role, you will lead the strategic and operational excellence of our retail business across the region--driving retail performance, strengthening in-store execution, and elevating the customer experience across all Fossil Group brands and store formats.

This is a hybrid position based in our Basel office. You will be required to work onsite from Monday through Thursday, with the flexibility to work remotely on Fridays.

What you will do in this role:

Retail & Merchandising Excellence

Lead a transversal Retail Support team for the EMEA region. Develop and optimize retail standards, store operations processes, and fixture strategies across brands and store formats. Refine and roll out Visual Merchandising guidelines to ensure consistent brand storytelling and store presentation. Drive a best-in-class in-store experience with measurable impact on sell-out, conversion, and NPS. Support and localize retail performance improvement programs, including store staff training, KPIs, and audits. Coordinate regional VM campaigns and seasonal rollouts, ensuring execution quality, timeliness, and consistency. Embed retail intelligence (traffic, conversion, SKU productivity) into business planning and activation cycles.

Operational Excellence

Lead process improvement and operational efficiency initiatives across the retail network. Partner with Finance, HR, and Supply Chain to ensure strong cost control, staffing, and inventory management. Drive consistency in store operations, opening/closing procedures, and compliance with global policies. Champion digitalization and innovation to improve in-store tools and reporting capabilities.

Collaboration & Leadership

Support, coach, and develop a diverse team across multiple markets. Partner with Brand, Marketing, and Merchandising to enable seamless omni-channel execution. Act as a key business partner to the EMEA Retail and Leadership teams, contributing to regional strategy and growth initiatives.

Who You Are

10+ years of experience in retail operations leadership across multiple countries within EMEA. Strong understanding of premium/lifestyle retail, ideally within fashion, accessories, or consumer goods. Strategic mindset combined with operational excellence and data-driven decision-making. Exceptional leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills. Fluent in English; additional European languages are a plus.
