Responsibilities:
Provide nursing consultations to students and guide them in the health care network
Provide emergency care to students, staff, or visitors on campus in collaboration with the Security service
Support the coordination and communication between local hospitals and GIHE management and / or parents, if necessary
Offer psycho-social support to students who experience personal or psychological problems
Maintain good relations with existing health care providers and develop contacts with new providers
Liaise with health care providers and the local health authorities if applicable
Participate in the creation and deployment of health promotion campaigns, working with other departments and students
Advise faculty and related departments regarding students with health-related issues according to the ethical and deontological requirements of their profession, taking into consideration medical confidentiality
Participate in assistance to GIHE management in the development and delivery of a health and safety culture, including emergency procedures and in crisis situations
Collaborate in the integration of students with special health needs
Contribute to GIHE training activities, if applicable
Manage the first aid equipment on campus
Participate in the administrative management and logistics of the health service
Maintain student health records and ensure the transmission of relevant information to other health professionals, taking into consideration medical confidentiality
Participate in communications on the student health service, such as during Intake, Student portal page, etc.
Maintain current CPR / First Aid certification
Participate in continuing professional development activities
Profile and experiences:
Higher Education Nursing diploma or equivalent
Red Cross recognition for foreign diplomas
"Droit de pratique" in accordance with the canton's request (Vaud)
Professional experience of at least 5 years
Experience and / or training in community health care or in schools
Experience of working with young adults in a multicultural environment
Fluent written and spoken English and French, other languages a plus
Proactive and service-oriented attitude
Able to work under pressure
