Department: Taste HNC GMBD Unit

Reporting To: Taste HNC GMBD Team Lead

Location: Switzerland, Kaiseraugst, hybrid

Your responsibilities

The HNC Taste Global Technical Director responsibilities include reactive and proactive responsibilities:
  • Reactive: responsible for Taste technical excellence across regional dedicated technical resources
  • People: ensure proper technical capability development across regional dedicated Taste technical resources (SLAs or and HNC) including influencing (SLA) and direct (HNC) management
  • Process: ensure TTH lab processes are adapted to HNC needs and suggest improvements if needed (eg Sensory)
  • Tools: ensure TTH lab tools are adapted to HNC needs and suggest improvements if needed (eg GAME)
  • Customers: be the technical face of Taste HNC for key customer visits
  • Proactive: Responsible for all proactive Taste technical related initiatives
  • Act as Taste technical expert in segment-driven or premix/MRS driven innovation projects
  • Coordination and development of product prototypes and samples for proactive projects requiring Taste
  • Assist with regionalization of proactive global taste innovation projects to lead regions
  • Lead Taste selection to support concept health benefit proposition - support on building storyline and taste selection in line with innovation concept unique selling proposition.
  • Help with claim support and technical support behind Taste benefits.
  • Clean team related: (Short term: support technical deployment of current New Joint Concepts, Mid-term: improve performance of current NJC and develop new ones)
  • Main point of contact for Taste Innovation with TTH Taste, TTH ING and HNC Innovation teams and S&R:
  • Collect and prioritize Taste technical unmet needs from HNC customers for implementation within Taste HNC or ING Innovation
  • Suggest and build the case for proactive taste related initiatives in alignment with TTH and HNC Innovation teams
  • Support and challenge proactive taste related initiatives triggered by TTH and HNC Innovation teams
  • Identify and develop maskers for each nutritional ingredient relevant to HNC
  • Develop and deliver Taste technical training within HNC organization

You bring

Successful candidates will be graduates with a Master degree or equivalent experience in food science or technology related field, and have at least 10 years of relevant flavor technical experience and knowledge within the Food, Pharmaceutical or Food Supplements industry, good knowledge of industry and markets, in-depth know how about supplement and pharmaceutical products and applications as well as excellent communication skills. Candidates will also have a proven track record of successful customer interactions together with good organizational and management skills. This position will suit self-motivated and entrepreneurial individuals looking to progress their careers in a challenging and stimulating work environment and has an appetite for travel globally.

Important notes

This job title is temporary and will be adjusted once the job grading structure for the new Group will be adopted (covering among others: grades\\\' design, job evaluations, calibration, and job titles\\\' nomenclature). Until these adjustments are finalized, current compensation packages will be grandfathered for those whose new position turns out to be graded lower than their current position. This temporary period will last not more than 24 months for the legacy DSM Executives or legacy FIR SLT members, and not more than 12-18 months for all other employees from the moment the candidate moves into their new position.
