Under the responsibility and in close collaboration with the Head of Infrastructure of the School of Engineering (STI), you will play a central role in supporting and coordinating the infrastructure activities of the faculty. You will ensure the smooth operation of infrastructure projects, manage daily requests, and contribute to the strategic development of STI.
Main duties and responsibilities
1. Strategic and Coordination Tasks Support and assist the Head of Infrastructure in daily operations and long-term planning.
Supervise the "infrastructure" activities of STI-IN and ensure smooth coordination with existing teams (chemical shop, chemical waste, equipment logistics, shared labs, STI shop)
Contribute to strategic development projections and ensure the successful integration of new professors and their research groups.
Occasionally represent STI in working groups, committees
Be prepared to assume new tasks arising from new development, including rare interventions outside normal working hours.
2. Technical Tasks Moderate and follow up on renovation or infrastructure requests from STI
Prepare project files for renovations, modifications, or refurbishments (plans and descriptions prepared with requestors).
Monitor ongoing renovation and modification works.
Organize the maintenance plans of all shared equipment
Handle the closing of labs
Provide first-level technical support to STI staff (liaising between DSE and users).
Maintain and update internal building signage.
3. Logistical Tasks Follow up on all furniture requests
Manage office and lab moves, including coordination with external companies and users, verification of layouts and deadlines, and troubleshooting.
Manage zoning needs and update space allocation records in STI IN tools
Handle access rights and manage shared spaces (safety, cleanliness, booking systems).
Provide first-level support for the scientific equipment inventory system.
4. Administrative Tasks Prepare standard documentation for STI-IN project management.
Maintain tracking documents for space allocation.
Keep the STI-IN website up to date.
Draft meeting minutes, doodle polls, and other administrative needs.
5. Other Tasks Act as a replacement contact for the chemical products store.
Undertake any other tasks required for the smooth functioning of the unit.

Profile
University degree / Federal certificate or equivalent education and experience in construction or infrastructure management.
Minimum of 5 years' experience in the construction or an equivalent technical domain
Proven experience in project management and natural problem-solving abilities.
Initiative, critical thinking, and ability to propose solutions.
Fully service-oriented and team player,
Proven ability to manage multiple tasks effectively, with the right priorities
Track record of maintaining focus and performance in fast-paced settings
Proficiency with standard IT tools and affinity with technology.
Fluent in both English and French
