Background

The Global Survivors Fund (\\xe2\\x80\\x9cGSF\\xe2\\x80\\x9d) was launched in October 2019 by Dr Denis Mukwege and Nadia Murad, Nobel Peace Prize laureates 2018. Its mission is to enhance access to reparations for survivors of conflict-related sexual violence around the globe, thus responding to a gap long identified by survivors. GSF acts to provide interim reparative measures in situations where states or other parties are unable or unwilling to meet their responsibilities. GSF advocates for duty bearers as well as the international community to develop reparations programmes. It also guides states and civil society by providing expertise and technical support for designing reparations programmes. GSF\\\'s survivor-centric approach is the cornerstone of its work.

Role Summary

The intern will be responsible for supporting the activities of the Act team working on projects for interim reparative measures and will report to the Senior Project Officer. In addition, the intern may provide some support to the other activities of the Department of Programmes, when necessary.

Intern\\\'s Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to the following activities:
  • Support the coordination of GSF projects for interim reparative measures
  • Support the development of toolkits
  • Contribute to the data analysis on the projects
  • Contribute to research
  • Contribute to the drafting of note and reports on the projects
  • Support the liaison with national coordination teams
  • Translate some project documents from and into English/ French
  • Participate and report on projects meetings
  • Participate in GSF Teams Meetings
  • Occasionally, participate in other activities for the Direction of Programmes.
Position Requirements

Education and Experience

The position is open to students currently enrolled in a master\\\'s programme in international relations, international law, or another related topic. Recent graduates may also apply, but a preference will be given to students undertaking this internship as part of their studies.

  • Full working proficiency in English and French.
