Project description (Master's thesis/Internship: 6 months)
As an intern at Melexis, you will evaluate the many of the cutting edge products within the Cadence portfolio to assess next-generation AI tools, by exploring the Verisium platform.
More specifically, you will:

• Verisium Manager: Analyze its capabilities in managing regression runs and coverage metrics. This includes collecting and validating functional coverage, code coverage (DCC), assertion coverage, and other verification data.
• AI SpecMiner: Evaluate its effectiveness in automatically generating executable test plans from written specifications, reducing manual effort and increasing consistency.
• SimAI: Test its ability to analyze simulation results, identify coverage gaps, and suggest targeted simulation runs to enhance verification efficiency.

Expected results

• Improve Mixed-Signal verification efforts and efficiency, including smart simulation management and regression compression
• Enhance coverage closure, aiming for 100% coverage across functional, code, and assertion metrics
• Streamline verification management through better collection, analysis, and reporting of verification data
• Leverage AI-driven optimization, including automated test plan generation, coverage gap identification, and smarter simulation planning
• Validate the approach on a reference project and implement the solution in future designs

Requirement

• Basic understanding of digital and mixed-signal design and verification: Familiarity with concepts such as functional coverage, assertions, and simulation-based verification
• Knowledge of Hardware Description Languages (HDLs): Proficiency in SystemVerilog and Verilog is essential
• Familiarity with verification methodologies: Knowledge in UVM (Universal Verification Methodology) is a plus
• Scripting and automation skills: Experience with scripting languages such as Python, TCL, or bash for automation and data processing
• Analytical thinking and problem-solving: Ability to interpret coverage results, analyze gaps, and propose improvements
• Interest in AI and EDA tools: Enthusiasm for exploring how machine learning and AI can be applied to hardware verification
• Good verbal and written English communication skills
