We are supporting a leading international industrial organization based in Zurich in the search for an (Junior) Operational Procurement Specialist. This is a 7-month on-site contract position, starting in January, within a highly technical and production-focused environment.
The role offers an excellent opportunity for an experienced operational purchasing professional to manage end-to-end procure-to-pay activities, work closely with internal stakeholders, and collaborate with suppliers in a fast-paced industrial setting. The position is best suited for a hands-on, detail-oriented individual with strong SAP experience who enjoys working on-site and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.

Your key responsibilities:
- Process purchase requisitions and convert them into purchase orders
- Source products and services and support supplier selection activities
- Negotiate pricing and commercial terms within defined frameworks
- Obtain and follow up on order confirmations and monitor supplier delivery performance
- Maintain and update SAP master data (SAP S/4HANA, SAP MM)
- Collaborate with Accounts Payable to ensure accurate and timely invoice processing and resolve invoice discrepancies
- Support contract administration and supplier performance management
- Handle quality cases (e.g., defects, non-conformities)
- Act as an interface between production, sales, development, quality management, and suppliers
- Contribute to the continuous improvement, digitalization, and automation of purchasing processes Your background :
- Commercial or technical education; further training in purchasing or logistics is an advantage
- 3 years of experience in operational purchasing or a comparable role
- Solid experience with SAP S/4HANA, especially SAP MM
- Experience in an industrial environment; MEM industry experience is a plus
- Ability to work independently with general supervision
- Structured and solution-oriented problem-solving approach
