The Department of Psychology at the University of Zurich invites applications for a tenured Lecturer Translational Clinical Psychology and Digital Mental Health starting on August 1, 2026. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching and research in clinical psychology. Within this broader thematic area, we are looking specifically for candidates with a strong focus on the process of translating basic research into clinical practice, and on digital methods in clinical research as well as in clinical application areas (such as prevention, diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation). This is primarily a teaching position with about 25% of the time reserved for research.

Your responsibilities

The lecturer will be primarily responsible for offering a teaching portfolio in clinical psychology. The teaching load is 8 hours per week during the teaching periods (2 x 14 weeks per year) plus supervision of BA and MA thesis projects. The successful candidate should offer a broad portfolio of substantive and methodological courses (with a focus on digital methods) and seminars at all levels, including some courses with an interdisciplinary orientation for students of social sciences. We also expect the development of an independent, international research agenda in one area of translational clinical psychology and/or digital mental health. In addition, contributions to the development and refinement of innovative teaching formats and teaching material within the HEA group as well as to the usual departmental service obligations (committees, hiring etc.) are expected. This is an independent, non-professorial teaching and research position not attached to a specific chair.

Applicants should hold a PhD degree in psychology and have a strong record of academic achievements in clinical psychology. We are looking specifically for individuals with a strong background in research and teaching in the translation of basic research into clinical practice, as well as innovative digital methods of assessment and intervention (e.g., digital phenotyping, machine learning, text mining). Suitable applicants are proficient in didactics and have experience in teaching and supervising BA and MA thesis projects. Additionally, psychotherapeutic training would be an asset. Teaching may be carried out in English, but proficient knowledge of German is expected latest after two years.
