The Position



We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced EAL teacher for upper primary, who engages and inspires learners through their own passion and professional practice. An ideal candidate will have significant EAL expertise, and experience of working with multilingual learners in diverse bilingual/multilingual settings.



Essential Skills:



Applicants should have at least 3 years experience in teaching EAL, preferably at an international school. For non-Swiss/EU applicants, extensive international experience is required.



Learner-centered focus, with the ability to differentiate for diverse learning needs Teaching license including EAL, and/or literacy specialism, Masters level study preferred Understanding of and experience using translanguaging strategies C2 level of English with excellent writing and oral communication skills Familiarity with the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages Experience using diagnostic language assessments and data to inform teaching Experience with Universal Design for Learning (UDL)/differentiated instruction to meet varied needs Ability to create a classroom climate that fosters a sense of belonging Commitment to ongoing professional development Collaborative, inclusive team-oriented disposition
