ROLE DESCRIPTION
Our Global Marketing & Commercial Excellence Department in Basel is an agile multi-cultural and customer centric high-performance team. We are looking for a Manager Global Events to strengthen our Global Event Management Team. It provides leadership, consulting, design and execution for events and live communication, connecting event management, branding, digital marketing, marketing communications, sales and medical education beyond organizational and geographic boundaries and beyond physical and virtual formats.
You will take over an active and demanding part mastering all event management steps and phases from kick-off, concept, budget, planning, design, execution up to the final debriefing. Depending on your assignment, you cover operational and / or more strategic roles.
Tasks:
Organize assigned international key events, mainly in the dental care environment
Set a clear governance with roles and responsibilities for each event to make sure that any event is run smoothly by a well-balanced team; build smart sub teams
Produce detailed and convincing proposals for events (including timelines, venues, suppliers, legal obligations, staffing and budgets, etc)
Research venues, suppliers, and contractors
Manage and coordinate suppliers and all event logistics (i.e. venue, catering, travel, booth building and more)
Liaise with sales and marketing teams to promote event internally and externally - ensure lead to sales process is in place
Manage pre-event planning, eventually speakers and delegate packs
Coordinate suppliers, handle requests and troubleshoot on the day of the event to ensure that all runs smoothly
Manage a team of staff (project-based), giving full briefings
Organize facilities i.e. for car parking, traffic control, security, first aid, hospitality and the media
Make sure that insurance, legal, health and safety obligations are followed; follow the high compliance standards of our industry
Oversee build up and dismantling of the venue efficiently
Produce post-event evaluation to support future events
Work closely with branding department and digital marketing teams
Profile:
Bachelor's or master's degree in business, marketing or event management or any related area
Formal event management certificate is a plus
Strong project management skills: project management certificate is an advantage
5 year's experience in an international marketing and / or event environment with matrix organization preferably in healthcare, pharma, life science etc.
Good commercial/ business, digital marketing, and event understanding
Good team worker paired with a strong sense of accountability
Passionate, straight forward and performance driven individual with entrepreneurial spirit and strong execution abilities; High level of integrity and commitment
International agency background is of advantage
Excellent organizational and communication skills
Able to achieve pragmatic results in a dynamic environment
Proactive and accountable person with distinct interpersonal skills to cultivate a network of effective working relationships in an international matrix environment; used to live and work in a multicultural environment
Fluent in English (written and spoken), any other language is an advantage
