Who we are
College du Leman is one of Switzerland's most prestigious international day and boarding schools, located on the edge of Lake Geneva in view of the Swiss Alps. We are a truly international community of more than 120 different nationalities. These come together on a green, village-like campus covering 8 hectares. Students follow national and international curricula, with English, French and Bilingual programmes offered.
Main purpose of the role
The successful applicant's role will be to encourage and support students to enjoy and make the most of the learning opportunities offered by the school and, specifically, to teach mathematics across a range of programmes in High School. Previous experience of teaching mathematics in the IGCSE, IB Diploma and/or a High School American program is an advantage, as is experience of teaching in boarding schools. The ability to use and integrate ICT in the curriculum is expected. The role includes the possibility of becoming a homeroom advisor.
Key Responsibilities
The mathematics teacher will:

• Promote the school's mission and vision by assisting students to discover and develop individual strengths, make powerful, life-long global connections, and be their best selves.
• Contribute to the creation of a caring and inclusive learning environment in which students can flourish, ensuring that each student's health and well-being are given the necessary priority.
• Embody and promote College du Leman's RISE values of Respect, Internationalism, Spirit, and Excellence.
• Use and develop the existing resources to teach mathematics in the Anglophone High School, possibly including IGCSE (International General Certificate of Secondary Education), IB (International Baccalaureate), Advanced Placement (AP) and regular mathematics courses.

• Work with colleagues to ensure that all lessons are harmonized across the grade level.
• Grade students as per the school guidelines and enter grades into the on-line gradebook.
• Write school reports as per guidelines and adhere to the timelines for completion.
• Supervise Extended Essays within the IBDP programme if required.
• Carry out other duties as assigned.

Skills and Competencies
Qualification
Required

• University degree in Mathematics. Master's and PhD preferred.
• Recognised teaching qualification.

Experience
Required

• Previous experience of teaching Mathematics in High School.

Preferred

• Previous experience in an international school setting
• Previous experience of teaching in the IB and/or IGCSE programmes and/or AP mathematics.
• Previous experience of teaching EAL students.
• Previous experience in an international school setting. Some experience working as a homeroom advisor.
• Some experience of teaching mathematics in Middle School.
• Some experience working in a boarding school.

Prior Skills and Knowledge

• English mother tongue or equivalent fluency. Working knowledge of French is an asset
• Ability to use and integrate ICT in the curriculum.
• Good rapport with students, firm but fair.
• Good organisational skills.
• Good communication skills, written and verbal.
• Must be able to work as part of a team.
• Able to work to tight deadlines.
