Medical Device Development Engineer (m/f/d) - Systems Engineering / Instrument Development / Medical Device Development / Data Analysis / English / German

Background:

As an Instrument Integration Engineer, you will play a key role in ensuring the harmonious integration of hardware and software components to ensure optimal instrument functionality. You will support the entire instrument lifecycle - from the concept phase through development and validation to market launch and maintenance. In this position, you will play a key role in ensuring that all system components work together smoothly and, through your expertise, ensure that the final product meets the highest quality and performance standards. Your work forms the basis for the successful implementation of modern diagnostic and analytical instruments, which are indispensable in a wide range of applications and industries.

The perfect candidate has the ability to work both independently and in a team, combined with an innovative spirit and strong problem-solving skills.

Aufgaben & Verantwortlichkeiten:

Ensure seamless cooperation between hardware and software components, driving integration activities throughout the entire lifecycle of the instrument. Independently or with minimal support, plan, execute, and document integration activities such as feasibility studies, testing, and troubleshooting. Develop and verify test methods for instrument testing, maintain and execute complex test cases, and ensure rigorous testing of instrument functionality. Support and execute troubleshooting and root cause analysis for instrument issues. Apply statistical methods and data analysis using software tools to evaluate test results, identify trends and correlations, interpret findings, and generate reports that inform decision-making Act as the technical point of contact for internal and external stakeholders. Represent projects in internal meetings and collaborate with R&D teams at Roche to share domain knowledge and ensure alignment with project goals. Foster a culture of open communication and collaboration, bringing fresh ideas to the table, encouraging innovation, and supporting continuous improvement.

Must Haves:

Bachelor's or Master's degree in a scientific or technical field, particularly in the areas of biotechnology or biomedical engineering. Basic understanding of systems engineering and its application in instrument development. Initial professional experience in medical device development is an advantage. Initial professional experience in data analysis, evaluation, and the application of statistical methods is an advantage. Affinity for data-related work. IT/tool ??skills: MS Office/Google Workspace. Fluent English skills; German skills are an advantage.

Nice to Have:

Tools / IT knowledge is an advantage but not a must: Python, Jmp, Azure Dev Ops, Retina.
