We are seeking a motivated and technically skilled Postdoctoral Researcher to join our interdisciplinary team working on SwissPrEPared, a national program for HIV prevention and sexual health, as well as affiliated projects on STI testing, prevention and counseling. The position is based at the Department of Public and Global Health (DPGH) within the Institute of Epidemiology, Biostatistics and Prevention at the University of Zurich, an internationally recognized center of excellence for advancing population health through rigorous research, innovative methods, and impactful teaching.
Your responsibilities

The postdoc will work at the intersection of data management, public health monitoring, and applied epidemiological research, and will play a central role in establishing a sustainable, reproducible, and high-quality data pipeline and reporting infrastructure. The postdoc will work closely with the Center for Reproducible Science (CRS), which will provide expert support in designing and implementing core data systems.
Key Responsibilities:Develop and maintain automated data pipelines for monthly updates from SwissPrEPared and affiliated sexual health projects
Clean, structure, and validate large clinical and behavioral datasets from multiple sites and data sources
Generate dynamic monitoring reports (e.g., visit counts, positivity rates, data quality summaries) for use by clinicians and public health partners
Coordinate with CRS data stewards to implement reproducible workflows and metadata schemas aligned with national standards (e.g., SPHN)
Conduct epidemiological analyses on PrEP use, STI trends, and sexual health outcomes
Co-author peer-reviewed publications and contribute to scientific presentations
Actively participate in interdisciplinary meetings with the scientific board and broader stakeholder community
Your profile

Essential qualifications:PhD in Epidemiology, Biostatistics, Public Health, Data Science, or a related field
Demonstrated experience in data cleaning, wrangling, and analysis (R or Python preferred)
Experience working with health or clinical datasets
Strong organizational and project management skills and an interest in reproducible research practices
Proven ability to work independently and take ownership from design to delivery, with good judgment on when to seek input and collaborate
Excellent written and verbal communication in English
Commitment to ethical, inclusive research and responsible data practices when working with sexual and gender minorities and other vulnerable populations
Desirable:Familiarity with metadata standards, SPHN schemas, or FAIR data principles
Experience working with REDCap or similar systems
Background in HIV/STI research, sexual health, or digital public health
German language skills (optional but helpful)
