\\n The Chair of Construction Heritage and Preservation (D-ARCH) in collaboration with the Department of Mechanical and Process Engineering (D-MAVT) is launching the new Certificate of Advanced Studies ETH in Repair and Maintenance (CAS ReMain) starting Spring Semester 2024.

We are looking for a Program Coordinator (40\\xe2\\x80\\x9360%) starting October 2023 or earlier upon agreement. Application deadline is September 15th.

Project background

The new interdisciplinary continuing education programme CAS ETH ReMain at ETH Zurich focuses on scalable repair and maintenance strategies as well as economic concepts of value preservation for (industrially produced) objects \\xe2\\x80\\x93 from small scale technical equipment over furniture and design objects up to buildings and their components. By means of model repair projects, participants analyze and develop impactful approaches using various methods, ranging from traditional to advanced manufacturing Technologies. The project work is supplemented by a transdisciplinary range of input lectures and workshops.

The programme is aimed at professionals from the fields of architecture and civil engineering, mechanical and process engineering, product and industrial design, sustainability, real estate, and portfolio management. The goal is to train specialists who would like to contribute to sustainability in the construction industry by acquiring the relevant competences. The programme language is English.

Job description

You will be employed part-time at the Department of Architecture or at the Department of Mechanical Engineering (upon agreement) and will be responsible for the coordination of the CAS ReMain. Your responsibilities include:
  • Communication with participants, internal and external lecturers, programme delegates, and across the existing further education programmes within the Institute for Preservation and Construction History (IDB) and the Institute of Technology in Architecture (ITA)
  • Coordination of programme schedule and content with lecturers and the Department of Architecture
  • Coordination between the programme delegates at D-ARCH and D-MAVT
  • Teaching of the basic course / Model project (optional/20% max.)
  • Coordination of the registration process with the School for Continuing Education (SCE), selection of course candidates together with the program delegates
  • Organization and implementation of course-related excursions, colloquia, and guest lectures, as well as their communication
  • Preparation of promotional materials and their dissemination
  • Documentation and publication of program progress and results in online and print media
  • Budgeting and accounting for the programme
  • Further related administrative tasks
Your profile
  • You have a degree in one of the related fields (architecture, engineering, product design or product development, sustainability, etc.) or in communication with experience in the related professional fields
  • You are experienced in teaching and/or research in the related fields within an academic environment
  • You possess the ability to communicate and collaborate across disciplinary boundaries.
  • You possess excellent organizational and analytical skills as well as an efficient, goal-oriented approach to work and time management skills
  • You have excellent language skills in English and German
  • You enjoy working in a multidisciplinary team and can take initiative where necessary
