Introduction of the Centre:


The Global Health Centre at the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies is seeking a Communications and Platform Associate to join the International Geneva Global Health Platform. This role offers a unique opportunity to engage with global health diplomacy, governance, and political dynamics at the heart of the Geneva ecosystem.



The role:


The Project Associate will work closely with the Head, Policy Engagement and Global Health Platform, contributing to initiatives including the International Geneva Global Health Platform and other policy-oriented activities addressing areas such as global pandemic response and climate change and health.



Key responsibilities:


Event Organization and Coordination

Organize and coordinate independently events; collaborate with team members and external partners to ensure smooth execution of events; demonstrate proficiency in Zoom and Webex; Plan and facilitate weekly team meetings and other meetings with external stakeholders including diplomatic missions, representatives of international organizations and civil society, members of academia, and journalists; carry out administrative tasks including managing invoices, contact lists, and relationships with service providers.

Communication

Update the Initiatives' websites regularly; contribute to the creation of engaging and informative social media posts to promote the Initiative's activities and resources; design, create and update materials for the initiatives such as policy brief and workshop reports, graphics, and other designs as requested by the project manager.

Research Support

Conduct research on relevant topics related to pandemic governance, policy processes, and emerging issues, including climate change and health and the work of the Intergovernmental Working Group (IGWG); Synthesize and critically evaluate complex data, literature, and reports applying advanced analytical skills to inform and shape the initiatives' research and strategic activities; synthesize research findings into concise and informative papers, reports or presentations for internal and external use.

Diplomatic outreach

Support the representation of the organization in meetings with diplomatic missions, international organizations, civil society groups, academics, and media professionals; capture and synthesize key insights and action points from both internal and external meetings, ensuring high-quality, comprehensive records that support informed decision-making across the team.



To be successful in this role, you should have:


Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., law, international relations, public health, global studies). Master's degree preferred. 3-4 years of relevant work experience in a similar position. Strong interest in global health governance and global health law. Strong organizational and coordination skills. Proficiency in effectively managing time and setting priorities. Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English. French or other UN languages is an asset. Proficiency in virtual meeting platforms such as Zoom and Webex, including the ability to set up, manage, and facilitate online meetings and webinars. Demonstrated research and analytical abilities, with the capacity to gather and synthesize information effectively. Able to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. Strong team player. Demonstrated ability to navigate and thrive in a multicultural workplace, with exceptional people skills and cultural sensitivity. Flexible and open to learning new skills as required by the evolving nature of the project. Asset for the position: Advanced knowledge of Adobe Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, etc) and web management software such as Wix and/or WordPress. Advanced knowledge of social media platforms and relevant communication tools.
