Join our dynamic Business R&D team in Turgi, where we develop cutting-edge medium-voltage frequency converters and HVDC subsystems. You'll be part of a collaborative environment with six power electronics engineers and three mechanical engineers, working on innovative solutions that have a global impact. This role offers flexibility in work arrangements and international exposure, with project teams collaboration spanning Poland, Sweden, and China.
How you'll make an impact
Drive the mechanical development of medium-voltage frequency converters and HVDC subsystems in a R&D environment
Collaborate on international R&D projects across multiple countries
Work closely with project leaders, sponsors and suppliers to align on technical goals
Conduct on-site technical troubleshooting (approx. 10% travel)
Apply mechanical engineering expertise to support product development and innovation
Collaborate with internal engineering teams to ensure seamless integration
Test and validate new mechanical components and systems
Contribute to the integration of new technologies and continuous improvement initiatives
Your background
At least bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a related field
Proven experience in mechanical design and development, ideally in power electronics or related industries, with tools like SolidEdge, NX, SAP and Ansys
Familiarity with medium- or high-voltage systems and converter technologies is a plus
Hands-on experience in lab-based product development and testing
Strong understanding of mechanical systems, materials, and thermal management
Experience across the full product lifecycle, from concept to production
Excellent communication and collaboration skills in a cross-functional, international environment
