This position is key to the creation of exceptional quality original research and thought leadership for Swiss Re's clients and partners. You will work on our industry-leading sigma research and other publications, with two key areas of responsibility:
high-quality editing of research publications and writing related key takeaway materials.
managing the production of research publications, from schedules to stakeholder management.
About Swiss Re Institute
We originate actionable insights to support profitable risk-taking, by providing input for internal planning and business steering, creating business-focused research, and positioning SRI and Swiss Re with external stakeholders.
SRI is a Group Function reporting to the Group CEO. We are a diverse set of around 60 colleagues working in teams across various locations.
Main activities
Trusted partner: in this role, you will be an expert advisor to SRI's team of more than 40 research analysts in Zurich, New York, Hong Kong, Beijing and Bangalore.
You will work closely with our analysts - your core internal clients - to support them in scheduling and resourcing research publication projects. Your role is to assist them from concept to final proofread, listening to their needs, keeping them on track and ultimately helping to translate their specialist knowledge into compelling narratives accessible to Swiss Re clients and partners (external and internal).
Editing quality: you will copy-edit economics and insurance-market related reports, with a focus on content narrative, key takeaways, attention to detail (accuracy and consistency) and language quality (grammar, spelling, punctuation).
Your activities will span:
provide end-to-end line editing support to analysts
enforce adherence to internal governance processes for all written content
maintain consistent writing style across all output, in line with in-house style guidelines
set and manage production schedules
distil content from research for use in slides, or as key takeaway messaging and engagement material.
The Team
You will be part of Swiss Re Institute's editorial function, reporting to the Head Editorial Office. You will edit in English and manage the overall production schedules of your assigned publications to meet defined deadlines.
You should be able to work independently with a diverse team of colleagues across Swiss Re Institute. Your collaboration will extend to other teams in Swiss Re, from Communications to Compliance.
Working environment
To be successful, agility is key. You will be required to switch focus and energy between different tasks, often at short notice. To this end, a "can-do" attitude is key.
You will need resilience as the working environment can be high pressure, and on occasion you will likely need to be flexible in working hours to meet publication deadlines.
About You
