As Research Associate you will use molecular biology- and cell-biology tools to develop and implement tests to screen ingredients. These tools are then applied in the understanding of human olfaction to screen for olfactive properties of new ingredients. Additionally, methods are applied in the early screening of molecules for toxicological properties.



You will be based in our Innovation Center in Kemptthal and reporting directly to the Research Scientist.


In this exciting role you will:


Set up biological assays based on cell cultures Use molecular biology tools to modify cell lines Perform larger screenings of molecules Measure dose-response curves Optimize assays and implement new assays Perform analytical quantification of molecules Establish structure activity relationship and gain mechanistic understanding



Your professional profile includes:


BSc level scientist plus 5 years job training or MSc level scientist (e.g. Life Science, Biochemistry or Biology) or Technician plus at least 10 years of experience Business fluent in English; as an advantage language skills in German and French Used to address scientific challenges Excellent experimental skills and profound biological background Used to work independently and able to accomplish a project (literature search, planning and performing experiments independently, documenting results) Experienced in analyzing experimental results and drawing conclusions Experienced with Cell Biology (cultivation of cells (cell lines, primary cells), cell assays) Very good knowledge of biochemical assays like enzyme tests and sample preparations for analytics (GC, LC) Very good knowledge of research documentation (SOPs/protocols) Passionate to put biological assays into practice Open, constructive, enthusiastic for bioscience, team-player
