Job Description

EFG Bank European Financial Group SA, Geneva, ("EFGB") is a Swiss bank authorised and supervised by the FINMA, operating out of Geneva at Quai du Seujet 24. EFGB is the 46% shareholder in EFG International AG, a listed Swiss-based private banking and asset management group, which is also present in Continental Europe and the Middle-East, the UK, the Asia-Pacific region and the Americas.


EFGB services a long-standing clientele, offering classical private banking services. EFGB works closely with EFG International and its Swiss banking subsidiary, EFG Bank AG, in the areas of IT, operations, compliance, legal, treasury/global markets, finance/accounting, first and second line checks, risk control and account documentation management.


The person will join an 8-people team, including members of the EFGB Executive Committee. He/she will work closely with them, in particular the Deputy CEO (and CFO) and the Chief Risk Officer, as well as other staff members, in particular some Customer Relationship Officers (CRO).

Report functionally to the three Executive Committee members collectively and administratively to the Chief Risk Officer; Assist in checking client transaction (payment) supporting and corroborating documentation and following up client transaction monitoring alert clearance and pending account documentation, and will liaise with CROs and Compliance/AML accordingly; Assist in the periodic and/or ad-hoc review of client accounts / relationships; Support the Chief Risk Officer in the preparation of certain periodic risk reports and performance of certain risk management tasks; Support the two EFGB CROs and the Executive Committee on Compliance and other administrative and operating matters; Support the Executive Committee on (internal and external) audit matters, as need be; In case of the absence of the Customer Support Officer who supports the EFGB CROs, will provide the CROs with support; Assist in office management matters.

Profile

:


Good knowledge of private banking transactions, transaction internal controls (including fraud risk) and compliance regulatory requirements (AML, sanctions, suitability, cross-border, market conduct integrity); Good knowledge of risks associated with private banking; Adaptation to IT systems used by the Bank as well as Microsoft office suites; Applying judgement with a good common sense of risk appreciation and scepticism, and a sense of responsibility, rigour and substance in performing checks; Middle-ranking professional with experience in private banking, banking internal controls and/or bank internal/external auditing (on risk and regulatory matters); Flexibility, ability to integrate and interact with a team spirit, given the size of the unit, and ability to liaise effectively with other parts of the EFG organisation.
