Being responsible for analysers (e.g. CRDS, GC) and equipment for measuring emissions (e.g. NH3, CH4, CO2, N2O) in the livestock housing and laboratory Maintaining, calibrating and optimising measuring equipment and analysers Performing and maintaining technical elements of the tracer ratio method in the livestock housing Programming data acquisition and control systems for measuring emissions in the livestock housing and laboratory Processing measurement and analysis data Contributing to scientific and practice-orientated publications and conference papers

Bachelor/Masters in chemistry or equivalent field Extensive knowledge and experience of trace gas analysis (GC, CRDS) and of preparing and validating measuring equipment/set-ups Experience of recording and processing measurement data Ability to quickly familiarise yourself with new situations and perform measurements independently Flexibile, performance- and solutions-oriented team player with a good technical understanding and an enthusiasm for practical research Knowledge of two official Swiss languages and English

Livestock emissions must be reduced to meet environmental targets for agriculture. Agroscope is investigating measures to reduce ammonia and greenhouse gas emssions both in the laboratory and in experimental dairy housing for emission measurements in Tanikon.
