Job Description

Purpose
To produce monthly financial and accounting reports, maintain an adequate system of accounting records, enhance the accuracy of the company's reported financial results, and ensure that reported results comply with Swiss GAAP.
Role & Responsibilities:
Accounting Transactions

  • Ensure that monthly balance sheet reconciliations are completed (banks included)
  • Month-end and year-end closing activities
  • Booking invoices from the suppliers in a timely manner and ensuring that accounts payable are reconciled regularly with suppliers statements on demand
  • Ensure that accounts receivable are booked and collected promptly
  • Manage intercompany transactions and cost reinvoicing between entities
  • Maintain the chart of account and an orderly accounting filing system
  • Maintain a system of controls over accounting transactions following Group procedures in place
  • Ensure that inventories are correctly registered. Participate to the yearly stock take
  • Support Accounting Manager and other Finance colleagues on ad-hoc basis
Reporting
  • Issue timely and complete monthly financial statements
  • Support Accounting Manager in preparing annual Statutory Financial Statements (notes and supporting documents)
  • Provide ad-hoc financial analyses as needed
  • Address all financial queries and analysis required by management
Compliance, Tax, Treasury & Law
  • Manage all Tax aspects (prepare monthly VAT returns)
  • Ensure that Group policies and procedures are complied with
  • Review the Internal Control Systems and recommend improvements
Skills and Experience:
  • Bachelor's/Master`s degree, Federal diploma in finance or an equivalent qualification in accounting or business administration
  • 7+ years of progressive experience in accounting for a small/medium size company
  • Proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively with different levels of employees (different finance knowledge or other stakeholders)
  • Knowledge of MS Business Dynamics - an asset
  • Strong Analytical skills, detail oriented and organized
  • Very good knowledge of Excel

Languages:
  • English fluent spoken and writing
  • French (minimum B2), other European language an asset
