The Legal and Compliance teams of Vontobel are composed of seasoned experts with diverse and international background. We have dedicated specialists for each business division, and we are currently looking for a Compliance Officer for the Review Team.




The Compliance Officer in Zurich will be part of the Private Client Compliance Lifecycle Team focusing on Reviews of higher risk clients, which offers development opportunities in a successful and diverse environment. We observe high standards of individual behavior and business conduct and as the second line of defense, we work closely with the business to support best-in-class and sustainable compliance practices within the firm.

What would you role be?

Periodic client reviews, including PEP and sanctions-related analysis and special requests in close collaboration with subject matter experts. Compliance assessments and Due Diligence checks, including KYC and negative news. Advisory to the stakeholders in both 1st and 2nd line of defense. Regulatory based actions / reporting and responses. Trainings to the first line of defense about Compliance topics.

What are we looking for?

Degree, preferably in Law, Economics, Business Administration, or a banking-related field. At least 5-7 years of professional experience in Compliance, ideally with exposure to high-risk clients and markets. Solid understanding of the Swiss regulatory framework, particularly AML requirements and client documentation standards. Expertise in key compliance areas, including current sanctions regimes, with a proven track record of practical application. In-depth knowledge of markets in Central and Eastern Europe as well as Central Asia. Dynamic personality with excellent organizational, operational, and communication abilities. Pragmatic, solution-driven mindset with strong risk management orientation. Trusted partner to both business functions and senior management. Collaborative team player who is also confident working independently, engaging daily with business units, compliance stakeholders, and leadership. Fluency in German and/or English plus Russian; additional languages are a strong asset.
