The Role

Principal consultants work closely with colleagues to deliver and lead complex, customized and multi work-stream solutions that meet and exceed client expectations. At this level, business development and client relationship management feature as an important focus of the role in addition to delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

Assessment delivery:
  • Deliver high quality work that exceeds client expectations. Conduct in-depth interviews, interpret, triangulate, and integrate psychometric data and - where applicable - results of simulations.
  • Write feedback reports summarizing key outcomes with bespoke and specific, impactful recommendations for clients and learners. Leverage data analytics insights for meaningful aggregate reports which support clients\\\' key talent decisions.
  • Conduct effective client debriefs and feedback conversations to learners with a business and bottom-line focus.
  • Help design high quality assessment & succession solutions. Lead projects or complex work streams from \\\'low touch\\\' to \\\'high touch\\\' assessment solutions.
Client development:
  • Contribute to winning profitable business by proposal writing, pricing, shaping opportunities, pitch preparation and opportunity spotting in clients. Assess the needs of large/complex clients, designing and delivering solutions to meet their needs.
  • Develop and manage effective client relationships either as a member of an account team or by directly managing accounts including potential key accounts. Contribute to key accounts by project managing work streams and/or leading delivery teams.
  • Look for ways to build new client relationships e.g., active networking, asking for referrals, partnering across KF lines of business.
  • Lead research, analysis and interpretation on client/sector business issues, performance, client competitor performance etc. with a view to identifying possible opportunities. Leverage insights to define, recommend and/or co-create strategic solutions for the clients.
Go above and beyond assessment
  • Explore impact with clients and understand what needs to complement Assessment & Succession solutions. Broaden conversations to adjacent services, e.g., Leadership Development, Coaching, Team Development. Contribute to thought leadership and/or research.
  • Speak at local or national events in own area of expertise to enhance the KF brand. Develop relationships with industry and thought leaders externally to increase awareness and prestige of KF.
  • Be ready to discuss other Korn Ferry (KF) offerings in order to draw on appropriate practice expertise to provide business solutions, including those that may require inter-service line approaches.
Education, experience, and other qualifications:
  • A relevant higher (Master\\\'s or Doctorate, ideally in Psychology) degree plus considerable (7+ years).
  • Relevant work experience in a consultancy and/or a client HR function with a focus on Assessment, Talent Management and/or Succession Planning.
  • Passion for outstanding client service and going the extra mile for clients, above average dedication to touch people\\\'s lives.
  • Interpersonal savvy and strong people agility, willingness to work with a diverse workforce and heterogeneous client base.
  • Strong business acumen and commercial sense, strategic thinking skills and conceptual abilities paired with ability to operationalize and detail orientation.
  • Hunger to operate in global environments and contributing to international projects and teams with openness for travel.
  • Credentials in own \\\'major\\\' discipline in Leadership Assessment, Succession and Talent Management, ability to work independently to apply all core/standard methods and tools within that defined discipline to address client needs:
  • Expertise in design and implementation of assessments and full-fledged assessment centers, development journeys, program facilitation.
  • In-depth experience using assessment tools and methodologies including cognitive, behavioral and personality assessments, multi-rater tools/feedback, behavioral interviewing, feedback, development planning and coaching. Certifications valued.
  • Ambition and interest to develop in other delivery areas, e.g., Leadership Development and Coaching
  • Fluency in German and/or French and English.
