Because of a retirement, we must recruit for a Senior Embedded Electronics Development Engineer. In this role, you contribute to the next generation of Process Automation devices. This work is a cornerstone of realizing the GF Piping Systems Process Automation StrategyAs the GF Piping Systems Senior Embedded Electronics Development Engineer, you will be important in the internal activities concerning embedded requirements, development, and deployments over all relevant products. You will work on setting up the GF Piping System Process Automation embedded technology on a common framework. You will also work with a partner network on a global scale by applying sound requirements engineering. With your proactive attitude, you will work in an international environment, and you can fully live out your passion for innovation and technology.
Your tasks:

• Specify, design, build, and test electronics for transmitters, sensors, and actuators
• Lead the electronics development efforts
• Establish a modular hardware system architecture
• Bring in new solutions and technologies
• Support the team with functional prototypes
• Documentation, specification, and quality audits (advice) with external partners
• Mentor less experienced colleagues

Your profile:

• A higher degree or similar in an electronic-related area
• A minimum of 6 years of experience in embedded hardware development, standards, approvals & design patterns
• Basic technical project management skills & experience in communication with external service providers
• Experience in designing PCBs with Altium or a similar tool
• Experience in EMC-compliant as well as in high-speed PCB design
• Basic knowledge of communication hardware and protocols, e.g. Ethernet and/or Bluetooth would be an asset
• Experience in a C programming language is a plus
• English language skills on a professional level are must
• Willingness to travel on an occasional basis
• A valid work permit for Switzerland or at least an EU citizenship
